Some very sad news to pass along: @TxStateBobcats legend Vernon McDonald passed away this morning. Coach Mac served as SWT MBB Coach from 1953-1977 and was inducted into the SWT Hall of Honor in 1980. There was no bigger supporter, no bigger ambassador of TXST than Coach Mac. RIP

Vernon McDonald

Vernon McDonald was born in Dale, Texas, on March 9, 1929, and passed away on August 19, 2019, at the age of 90.

First met Coach Mac a little over 50 years ago; last time I saw him was a few years back. Was always a joy to be around, a very happy soul, and so animated when coaching on the sidelines he was often more fun watching than the action on the court!
