James Madison Leads Vic Bubas Cup Standings Through Winter Seasons

NEW ORLEANS – James Madison University leads the Sun Belt Conference’s Vic Bubas Cup standings through the winter sports season. The Bubas Cup is the Sun Belt’s all-sports championship, awarded to the top athletics department in the conference based on a points system.

6/14 after all fall and winter sports are totalled. I don't see us catching JMU, but we can make some serious movement with BSB and SB to land in the Top 3.

First of all, this thread should be moved to the Sun Belt folder.

If TXST is within 20 points of JMU after Golf and Tennis, we have a legit chance to bring home another trophy.

We will gain about 12 points on JMU just in outdoor T&F.

The diamond sports could gain another 10.

Golf and Tennis actually may be the key, if we can gain points in those sports, it will set us up nicely for diamond sports.

That 2.5 next to basketball really hurts. We have indoor track and field for women’s do we not? Curious as to why we have nothing there

Don't understand that one either. We came in 3rd in WITF and 4th in MITF, so there's a discrepancy there. Seems like they have a different scoring system for WITF and MSOC, but still weird that they gave points for 4 teams and we weren't one of them.

That chart is all screwed up, they forgot to add the title for women swimming and diving, that is the one that only has four participants.

Troy was awarded same amount of VB points despite not getting a post season bid?

ODU finishes with losing season and gets awarded more FB points. Ark St losing FB season gets awarded same amount of points.

Seems like a great trophy that devalues a NCAA post season game and national stage.

Finished fall directors cup in a 3 way tie for 4th nationally among the SBC (91) with CCU and USA. That’s exciting and has to be one of our best finishes.
