stAte is lighting the scoreboard up with red numbers today. All five of their players are at even par or better through 10-12 holes and are currently at -12 as a team. Bobcats are struggling a bit and are currently at +3 and in 10th. But, in the game of golf it just takes a couple of players to catch lightning in a bottle and a team can get right back in it.

It was a birdie fest at the Ocean Club Golf course. However, the Bobcats struggled to make birdies today and it shows on the scoreboard. On a day where the average birdies per 5 man team (only 4 scores count) was a little over 19 the 'Cats only had 13 with Kasper Nyland's non counting 79 having three of them. Arkansas St. is leading the team birdie count at 29 and it shows on the scoreboard as they are sitting alone at the top with a score of 274 (-14). The Woofs hold a two shot lead over Duke and 3 shots over Stetson. Three players share the individual lead with six under par 66's. The Bobcats were led by Sakke Siltala with a one under 71 followed by Jack Burke and Harrison Hineline's one over 73's. Rounding out the scoring for the 'Cats was Tom Roed Karlsen with his 2 over par 74. Nyland's 7 over par 79 was the non counting score for round one. Just goes to show you how crazy this game can be as he had a T3 finish just a couple weeks ago. Hopefully, they can get things turned around in round two and make up some ground.
