Sun Belt Announces 2021-22 Men's Basketball Postseason Awards & All-Conference Teams

NEW ORLEANS — Arkansas State freshman forward Norchad Omier was named the Sun Belt Player of the Year to headline the 2021-22 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Postseason Awards and All-Conference Teams announced Tuesday. The honors were voted upon by the conference’s 12 head coaches.

I would have thought Small would also be listed. I can’t pretend I am educated on his resume compared to others in the league. From what I have watched he is a key piece of our team that produces at a high level.

ditto for Adams but I guess we can't be having 4 players on the all conference teams.

I think Small has an argument for 3rd Team, no doubt about it.

SBC ranks:

25th in scoring
6th in rebounding
11th in blocks
16th in steals

That said, I think it would be interesting to see what he did vs which teams. Just a quick look at the last 10 games and not only were his best games vs the weaker opponents, but against the better teams, his scoring was down bigtime.
