Any student bobcats?

I know there are at least a couple students on here. I don't think they're very active though. We would love for the student section to get more activity here. Talk about class schedules, on campus dining, res halls, etc.

sure am! I'm a BSRC student in the class of 2021.

Trying to reach students is tricky. Especially because most students don't care too much about sports.

Here are the two ideas I came up with:
  • Set up a booth on the quad. The students who care about athletics will likely join.
    • Look approachable
    • Don't look like your selling anything
    • Make it clear to people walking by that Maroon&Golden is a TXST athletic news website as well as a forum page

  • Maybe try to workout a deal with @BarstoolTXST. @BarstoolTXST has a very large student following.
    • Make a TXSTBarstool endorsed forum?
    • Have them give Maroon&Golden a shout out on twitter?

Keep in mind! Students may misuse the forum page!
There is a possibility that students will solicit illegal drugs, give party details, and bully other users on the forums. So it will be important to set a early precedent that no illegal or harmful content is acceptable.

Awesome! Welcome! Yeah we are always looking for people to partner with, and give us shoutouts. We would really love to get the students attention. Hopefully we can, and continue to grow this thing.

These two are somewhat mutually exclusive......Barstool has a bad rep for a lot of the behavior that you mention, the TxSt page follows the same vein as the main one.

I’m just spitballing ideas to try to get more student representation onto the form. It feels like the vast majority of users are alumni.

My main concern is that there are students who would love to use the form but just don’t know of it’s existence. Hell 10,000 new students are admitted every year. That’s 10,000 people we should try to expose to the site.
