They are likely a longshot at this point. Needed to win the UL series and not drop a couple of the game 3s.

RPI not getting additional help this year with the last two series against terrible teams.

Last year UL finished 12th in RPI and wasn't selected to host and they have some of the best attendance in the country.

TXST is currently at 19 and UL at 14. No way they let two SBC host.

I hope they submitted the bid package but highly unlikely they get picked.

Sitting at 16 through yesterday’s games, but yeah. There’s no question whatsoever it’s a long shot both right now and after we play in 6 really unfortunate games.

However, in the event of a landslide of help with several top 25 teams potentially collapsing the next 2 weeks anything is possible to finish in the top 16 if we win the tournament.

The main thing was having the competence to get the bid submitted. Every top 25 team should at least submit one. I’m sure their are some P5 egos that submit bids outside of top 25 RPIs in case things swing drastically and “just because”.

Creighton beats Butler 4-2 to advance and play U Conn
Northern Colorado is about to run rule Weber to advance

TTU won in extra innings 9-8 over ISU yesterday to play Texas
ASU wins 3-1 over Oregon St to advance and play UCLA
Ohio St loses 1-5 against Wisconsin and bounced early
Seton Hall is swept in double elimination against a bad Butler and St Johnn's
Utah Valley advances in 2-1 win over UTA
NMSU advances in 2-1 win over Jax St
UTEP is 1-1 in the tournament and still alive
After losing back to back series against Michigan and Rutgers Penn St is bounced in opening round by Maryland

Yes, we are still very much a bubble host team but I would think when RPI posts tomorrow morning it will be in the 15 range, putting us on the inside of the bubble. At best we could even be 14.

Not going to help but it sure can’t hurt to pickup the phone and let people know what our plans to host would look like. At least we didn’t leave any loose ends. Committee will need to pass on more than a half dozen P5 candidates with a less favorable RPI or slightly better: Arizona, Baylor, Washington, Clemson, VT, Bama, Cal, Miss St, and either Arkansas or A&M

We are currently at the #17 RPI and that is where we will be in the morning with no chance of moving up.
Bruh you’re looking at Warren Nolan’s live raw value RPI. We’ve been trending 2-3 spots ahead of WN on NCAA’s RPI the last several weeks where bonuses are awarded. Worst case scenario is that we are #16 on NCAA RPI tomorrow.

#15 Texas A&M .6428
#16 Alabama .6423
#17 Texas State .6379
#18 Baylor .6350
#19 Clemson .6319
#20 Virginia Tech .6311

D1Softball projecting TXST as a two seed in the Aggie regional with the Aggies being the 16th seeded host. They also have TT as the 3 seed who beat TXST this year.

Lolz yeah saw that. That’s hilarious that if a P5 team was the right fit to host they might have taken a RPI as high as 22 or so to make the shoe fit. Not to mention how weird it is to be sent off to someone else’s regional when your RPIs are basically back to back. Still wouldn’t be surprised if either Clemson, VT, Arizona or even as far back as darling Washington host.

It’s too hard to host in this conference because we started playing too many trash teams in April when our RPI dropped from 10-13 to 16 and kept dropping.

Got snubbed. Not only did we not get the host seed, we're #3 seed in a regional against a team we beat head to head and a team we swept in a 3 game series...
