Eh...anything to do w/ a President being nearby is a beating for all locals. That will lock the school down and shut down a large part of SMTX for the day.

Impressive to host but terrible for traffic and getting around that day.

In the end it's a big deal to host and pretty awesome they get to do it.
It shouldn’t be too bad. It’s on a Monday. When Obama came to speak at a rally in 2008 there were 15,000 people at Sewell but everything ran smoothly.

Now it makes sense why they extended the runway at the San Marcos airport, fixed all the roads leading there, fixed IH 35 from Kyle to San Mo all the past 5-6 months. 😅😅

In what way did TXST do anything to “Bobcat this away”?
The man in charge of the commission is a former Bobcat. He fumbled this one big time by not working with the campaigns to be more accommodating. To begin with, the choice of venue was horrible….a 10,000 seat arena, but would only have like 200-300 invited guests instead. The Alkek teaching theatre would have been a perfect venue for it at that capacity, plus the acoustics would have been a lot better for television purposes, as well as a good motorcade route for the public to see the candidates going by.

WTF are you talking about? None of that was a factor in this decision. But I guess some folks have to find a reason to shit on their own alma mater. It’s almost pathological.

It had zero to do with the venue.

Its political posturing at its finest since that's all politicians seem to care about anymore.
