The news that Texas State Head Baseball Coach Ty Harrington may be retiring broke earlier this morning through Twitter. Eric Sorenson at Stitch Head Nation and CollegeBaseballToday.com, tweeted
Texas State is set to hold a press conference tomorrow afternoon at 3PM to confirm the details.
Harrington has been the TXST Head Coach since 2000. The 2019 season marked his 20th season with the Bobcats. During those 20 years, he became TXST’s winningest coach in school history on his way to an all-time record of 621-496-2.
Harrington has led the Bobcats to two Southland Conference Tournament Championships (2000, 2011), 3 Southland Conference Regular season Championships (2009, 2010, 2011), a Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Championship (2019), and three NCAA Tournament appearances (2000, 2009, 2011).
In the 2019 season, Harrington led the Bobcats to a 36-20 record and a Regular Season Sun Belt Championship before finishing as a “First Four Out” selection by the NCAA Tournament selection committee.
