Best BBQ in Texas

Went back to Panther City BBQ last weekend and managed to get the pork belly burnt ends, and some of the brisket tacos. Both were phenomenal. Also tried the chopped brisket and it was a much better experience than the super fatty sliced brisket that I had the previous time. Not sure if this chopped brisket was less fatty or if it was just better since it was all mixed up with bark and fat but it was amazing. I'd love to go back when we play basketball against UTA in Ft Worth, but I suppose I need to try out Goldees since they're #1 on the list.
It’s possible they don’t trim their brisket…I was surprised to learn my favorite BBQ joint in Houston doesn’t but it’s so good I don’t mind cutting the excess fat off.

When you’re doing 10+ briskets a day, the cost savings really start to add up.

Not sure if y'all have heard of Schoepfs BBQ in Belton but for as long as I've been an adult in the Centex area they were more positively known for their summer music series than their BBQ. With Miller's Smokehouse just a few blocks away comparisons between the two came naturally with Miller's being regarded higher in almost every regard.

Anyways, long story short, Schoepfs has improved tremendously. I went there last weekend and ordered a half pound of brisket, a venison sausage link, half pound of ribs, a brisket taco, a side of charro beans, and a side of cheesy potatoes. Was pretty good stuff. They might have surpassed the more well regarded Millers. Would definitely recommend both.

I used to live in Temple and Schoepf’s was always fine. Miller’s was definitely better, but now I want to go retry Schoepf’s.

Anyone been to Goldee’s (south of Fort Worth) yet?

I need to try Goldees for sure. I know I already commented on Panther City but its just so convenient being a block off of 35. I'm sure Goldees is worth it though
