Game Day Experience

Hell. Yes. More than anything just happy to see them make an attempt to show that they're listening.

I can handle trying to make changes for the better that maybe fail as long as we're continuing to try. I'm not OK doing the same thing over and over and over and continuing to fail.

This is awesome! Glad to know that all of our effort with flying the banner, doing the sign making contest, calling members of the BoR has started working. These are great steps in the right direction!

Keep in mind. A lot of the changes mentioned above are purely recommendations to Dr Teis and the rest of the AD at this point. I'm still waiting to hear back which of the changes they'll actually implement.

Thank God. I'm really liking what I am seeing here and hope to see the changes made. I'm excited for this season!

A little background on this story so everyone is aware. Ken Pierce, who is the chair of the committee, invited a few fans to a webinar like presentation a while back. The presentation referenced the Game Day Atmosphere thread that @Voltronjacko started on the old message board. The task force actually used a lot of the suggestions from that thread in their recommendations.

Since then, I have been sitting on this article waiting for the final go ahead to publish. After the presentation was complete, they needed to meet with cabinet members and other stakeholders to get approval on the recommendations. I was finally given the go ahead to publish yesterday afternoon. As of yesterday, most of the topics addressed in the article have been approved for implementation.

The one major change/recommendation that they are having logistical issues with is the Beer Garden. That may not be implemented by the beginning of the season and may end up coming closer to Homecoming time frame.

Gee. . . .

What’s the Big Deal? I’ve always enjoyed the Game Day Experience at Bobcat Stadium.
Plenty of empty parking spaces in the lots . . . .
Lots of room to tailgate . . .
Plenty of empty seats in the stadium, giving you lots of room to stretch out or roam . . .
No lines at the restrooms . . . .
Short Concession lines . . .
They never run out of Beer . . . ..
Easy Peasy clearing out after the Final Gun . . .

Why would y’all want to change any of that?

I think another interesting thing is their 15K average attendance goal. We should be able to blow that out of the water if we are halfway decent. I think we were at 22-24K average in 2014 when we were 7-5 to end the season.

I want to thank everyone that gave input on the original thread. You can see that TXST used a lot of that feedback to be the foundation of the changes we are likely to see.

Question in regards to combining the tailgate areas. As an alumni, I have brought my motorhome the night prior to game day. Will that still be allowed ?

New article up on Maroon & Golden!

Game Day Experience Article
I'm a proud Bobcat alum and always will be, but I always felt that the Texas State Athletic/University administration didn't really care about what people thought about Texas State as a brand and now they have FINALLY come to their senses and saw the need for this mentality among other things to change!

I sure hope they do this. I'd like to take some credit for my post (old maroon and golden) about new intro music like South Carolina has or even A&M using their Corps of Cadets drums. Do something that is San Marvelous/TXST style.

If the east side parking lot is used for tailgating, where will lot 4 Bobcat donors park?
We have always parked and tailgated in the east side parking lot.

Lot 4 is moving to the current student tailgate location between Bobcat Stadium and Strahan.

The only other issue I have seen is with the CSC staff being real strict on empty seats. They should encourage fans to move down closer maybe after the first quarter.
