Kinne Staff

On one hand, we had better talent at TXST than anything he had at UIW this season. On the other, we gave up 38 to Nevada…he gave up 41. We shut out HCU…he gave up 20 pts.

We were right to try and keep ZSpav (and he was right to turn us down), but Kinne should have gone after Woods or Naivar.

We essentially have an FCS coaching staff coming into a very tough and much improved SBC (the conference is 3-1 in bowl games and wiped the floor with UTSA, Rice & UConn along the way). That whole “we can score 53 ppg, we can win in shootouts” won’t work at this level (not to mention I see our ceiling at 30 ppg at most).

I’m….concerned. 🤔
Is the field shorter and wider in FCS? I don’t get the FCS staff comment. Do they not know football?

Worked for Mike Leach at Tech.
Worked for Chip Kelly at Oregon.
Worked for Scott Frost at UCF.
Worked for Josh Huepel at UCF.
Worked for Josh Huepel at Tennessee.
Worked for Briles at Houston.
Worked for Briles at Baylor.
Worked for Sumlin at Houston.
All of those produced 10+ win seasons with Top 10 Scoring Offenses and 40+ Scoring Defenses

TO me the most important hire is below. We have struggled to stay healthy since Jake has been here. Once can give excuses like COVID but COVID doesn't have as many injuries at OL the last 2 seasons and 15 Ship WRs (playing PWOs by last 3-4 games this season). It was not working. Injuries happen yes but multiple years of it... NO.

Just noticed in his Twitter account. His title is Assistant AD S&C Texas State University Football. Is this the normal official title for S&C coaches? Or is this some way to get around the current football budget?
