Sure seems to me that getting placed on multiple All-America teams makes you, pretty much by definition, one of the best in the nation. I mean, how many All-American running backs are there? Lordy, I hope he comes back next year.
All purpose player, not RBs. Otherwise he’d be on the Doak Walker…you know, the list SPECIFICALLY designed to let people know who the best RBs in the nation are.

This has to be the most pedantic thread from this group (bobcatfans and m&g) ever.
Mahdi is certified a badass. We're lucky to have him. Now move on!
Second. Team.

Second.

In TEXAS.

It’s you guys who keep wanting to make an unprovable point. Great use of pedantic tho. 😂

TJ Finley is only a few spots from Mahdi (three to be exact) in the passing leaders list….yet no one is giving him credit as “one of the best in the country”…somewhat of a double standard, don’t y’all think? He threw 24 TDs vs only 8 INTs…very good by a lot of standards in those metrics. Why no love there? Riddle me that and you’ll find the answer.

It’s like all those years when Tech QBs were throwing for 400-500 yards a game, but were never in the O’Brien or Maxwell lists at the end of the season. Some systems are conducive to statistical success. Mahdi benefits from that, much like the UIW receivers and RB last year.

So Mahdi is also on the passing leader list???? That is incredible! How can you even question his adequacy now?

could it be bc mahdi didnt have 5 turnovers for tds totaling 402 yds and 35 points?
nevada int...98 yards 7 points
ulm int..76 yards 7 points
arky st 1 fumble 91 yards 2 ints 137 yards, 228 tot yards 21 points

He did have key fumbles against USM and Troy. 🤔

I knew y’all would go to that card…still a double standard.

Again, not as an RB. As a specialist only. Ollie Gordon (the ACTUAL Doak Walker winner) was first team and Blake Corum (whom I’ve said all season was what the best RB in the country entails) was second team RB. I’d venture to say without the Southern Miss kickoff return to start the game, he probably wouldn’t have gotten a look to many lists.

its not like the top 4 sbc honors rbs vidal carroll ali webb would get leap frogged out of nowhere by a tx state player for skill position player status on the all american team
