2021 Recruiting: Offers, Commits, De-Commits, etc.

Time for a 2021 thread in basketball too as we offered our 3rd 2021 player yesterday.

The 3 offers out are:
Isaac Haney - 6'0" PG - West Plains, MO - Dora HS - 2* - Other D1 offers: Grambling, Cleveland State
Sean Pedulla - 6'0" PG - Edmond, OK - Memorial HS - 2* - Other D1 offers: Troy
Ramon Walker Jr. - 6'5" SF - Alvin, TX - Shadow Creek HS - 2* - Other D1 offers: North Texas, Sam Houston State

This is not good. Too many small ball guys being offered when we are getting clobbered in the paint.

Well 6'6" is pretty massive at this level for a guy listed as a SG, but yeah we need some guys who can play the 5. Especially with Terry graduating after this year.

Don't forget we do have freshman Nate Martin and JUCO transfer Nighael Ceaser coming in next year though in the 2020 class.

Haney committed to Missouri State yesterday.

Considering he's from Missouri not a huge surprise to see him want to stay close to home.

His offers were Missouri State, Texas State, Cleveland State, and Grambling.

Hey Josh, it's buried past a bunch of game threads but there is a 2021 thread already made down there. May want to merge the threads.

I think we need another PG asap so happy to see us offer one. Harrell's injury really illustrated our lack of depth at PG. And I like PGs that can score the ball too, which it looks like Chavez can.

Jacksonville State, Weber State, New Orleans, Vermont, NJIT, ETSU, UTRGV, Mississippi Valley State, Nicholls, UC Riverside.

Pretty decent list.

He's originally a Texan so you'd think we'd have a pretty good shot.

Walker committed to UH. Since that original post he had been upgraded to 3* and his D1 offers went from 3 to 8.

New offer out today to 3-star Concordia Lutheran (in Tomball) 6'7" Wing RJ Keene from The Woodlands.

Big offer list including Louisiana, UNT, Rice, UIW, SFA, Sam, Iona, McNeese, Wyoming, and Oral Roberts.

Looks pretty athletic for his size and a good shooter. Could probably play the 2, 3, or 4 in our system so could be a versatile player. Offers starting to pour in for him now. The ORU, Louisiana, North Texas, Rice, and TXST offers have all come in May.

Couple new 2021 offers have gone out in the last week:

6'3" PG Kaleb Stewart from Humble Atascosita. Seeing he had an offer from Texas A&M in 2018 and UNT in 2019, then a slew of offers this year from Old Dominion, Miami (OH), La Tech, Weber State, Wyoming, and Iona.

Also it looks like Chandler Davis is transferring to DII Young Harris College. He has been in the transfer portal since the season ended.

It'll be hard to improve our lackluster recruiting with the DK allegations. While I think the allegations were likely bogus, perception is reality. We probably should've moved on whether that was fair for DK or not. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Does it seem really off that the Sunbelt has totaled around 140 2021 commits and we haven't landed a single one? Is Spav so sure of his squad this season that he's going to be poached for a better job? Seems like something is going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Either way if we keep pace like this we're going to continue hitting the same brick wall as a program.
