His 25% was a freshmen. Shot 36% from 3 this past year (only shot 1.6/gm, so still not a shooter by any means). No idea on the competition but his team went 20-1. 8 boards and 3.3 assists a game is a good sign.

One thing this article doesn't mention that is noteworthy about Baylor, is Drew loves to redshirt, and his transfers all had to sit a year, so this year's squad is much older/more mature than many. He's not recruiting any 1-and-dones. Of their 8 rotation players, 4 are transfers that had to sit a year in Waco and another RS as a freshman for Baylor. Highest rated recruit on their team? Dain Dainja - redshirted this season. Drew has been the king of transfers and juco players for quite a while - seems like he's rarely going head-2-head w/ the powers for players. He's also done amazing w/ the international players. About 1/3-1/2 the guys he brings in from HS are redshirting.
I didn’t know that about the RS part

Looks like the Juco season is still going on. Morgan’s team is in his conference championship game (went for 19-11-3 in the semi). Championship game today. Bracket reveal for Juco tomorrow (24 team tournament). His team is ranked 7th, so even if the don’t win today, should be in the tournament.

In a year with incredible transfer portal numbers and immediate eligibility, I’m surprised we’ve only really seen JUCO or HS offers/additions. Anyone have an estimate of how many more scholarships we have or if they’ve heard about Coach Johnson searching in the portal?

They’ve added one transfer, Nate Lacewell, from San Jose State (Missouri City, Tx).

Small is confirmed coming back. Assuming Davis and Adams are moving on I have it at 12 scholarships filled. 13 is the limit. Small probably doesn’t count as the extra eligibility guys aren’t counting this next season, figure basketball is the same. So probably two spots open.

Oh man, another Juco instead of a transfer, but I like those numbers. We’ve added some scorers it seems. 23 ppg as a senior in HS, 21 ppg as a freshman at Blinn.

SAN MARCOS, Texas The Texas State men's basketball team announced the signing of five student-athletes to the 2021-22 roster.

"I am extremely excited about this year's recruiting class," said head coach Terrence "TJ" Johnson. "We were able to address our needs with talented and high character young men that will represent Bobcat Nation well. In our first recruiting class, we wanted to focus on recruiting the state, which I feel we were able to accomplish. We landed three in-state products in San Jose State transfer Nate Lacewell, a long versatile forward, a Blinn Junior College transfer Davion Coleman who is a quick athletic guard with a great feel for scoring the ball, and Brandon Love, a talented, athletic post from George Bush High School. We were able to complement the youthful in-state trio with the right blend of experience adding Navarro Junior College transfer Drue Drinnon, a skilled, versatile, playmaking guard alongside with Tyrel Morgan, an athletic two-way forward from Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa Junior College."
