While this is the first Sun Belt tilt between the Bobcats and Dukes, the sides have played 3x previously, with the good guys undefeated. Last meeting was not so long ago: a 3-1 victory in the Creeds & Crests Invitational. Emily and Janell both played as freshman.
The Dukes are a solid program, finishing 1st or 2nd in conf 6 of the last 7yrs and made the NCAAs in 2016 and 2017. Had an NCAA worthy team last year, but were barred from the CAA tournament because they were switching to the SBC. They haven't played a particularly tough schedule, with no good wins to date and have a pretty bad loss to UMBC. Swept handily (16-16-17) by their best opponent, Florida State. Just looking at their stats, it seems like they must feed 2 players the most, as only 10 (OH) and 15 (MB) have over 100pts so far (we have 5 players w/ 100+).
