Damn a fuggn shutout going. This team has gradually just stopped caring since the Penn St series. This will be the 3rd in a row where we’ve scored 3 combined runs. We spent over a month ahead of ULL now we look like we hardly belong. Speechless.

The idea of hosting was fun while it lasted like all things bobcat come to a screeching halt. Now we still have to focus on keeping a sub 35 RPI to get into the tournament. That is no longer a guarantee.

Why can’t we just have one elite program be it volleyball or softball? Both basketball programs and baseball are way in over their heads it’d be nice if we funded one program at a high enough level to be relevant on the national stage.

After the football game we went to softball game. Outcome not what we wanted but the fans on the left field side were entertaining and worth the price of admission. Cats fought the whole game but UL was the better team that day.

Mullins having difficulty finding the strike zone all day so far. Ran into a completely unnecessary 3rd out at 3rd yet again to leave the 3rd inning tied 2-2. Like 6-7 of our outs so far today have been lazy flares to SS or 3rd base in foul ground. Play has not been very inspiring.

Even though they looked a little off, they played good enough to win 4-2.
Second game has started and they lead 1-0,top of the 2nd.

Six conference games left and Bobcats are in second place a full four games back from UL who hold the tie breaker. UL, who hasn't lost a conference series since 2013, have to utterly collapse for TXST to grab the 1 seed.

Really need to win out to make sure they wrap up the 2 seed. Series against USM and Marshall to wrap up the season. No reason to lose again.

Current conference records

UL 17-1
TXST 13-5
USA 12-6
Troy 11-7
JMU 11-7

From a conference perspective, our life depends on winning out as to not see ULL until the championship game.

From a national perspective, we would be better off if the conference tournament started this Friday. It would be pretty beneficial if ULM and CCU passed up either Troy or JMU in the conference standings to bump one of them to the #7 seed that we would see in the quarterfinal.

The only glaring miscue that the regional hosting selection committee will see on our resume up to this point is the UTEP run rule and well losing the series to Tulsa isn't looking great anymore either after they just got swept.

These are the current players in bold chasing all-time TXST records. Have the opportunity to play 58 games + a potential regional run. Keep in mind Rupp and Hall both were aces IICRC their true freshman years unlike Mullins who gave away 200 IPs to a supporting cast of pitchers in King/McCann her freshman year.

Keep in mind it looks like they played a ton of regular season games in 2001 though if we made a run to OKC we could definitely get close to shattering 2001's all-time best single season 54 wins.
