When do offers usually go out to JUCO's? Are we behind that timeline too?
I would imagine the timing of JUCO offers and commits are slightly different than high school recruits, but I don't know enough about that to know for sure.
With 2 months to go here are the position groups we've given offers to that haven't officially committed anywhere:
DT QB (1) Caleb Jordan
RB (3) Kendal Taylor (SMU is his twitter background), DeQuavion Thomas, Cauren Lynch
WR (4) Dajon Harrison, Drue Jackson, Jalen Paxton, Trae Shropshire
OT (1) Casey Collier
TE (0)
OG (0)
C (2) Paula Vaipulu, Leke Asenuga
DE (1) Kortlin Rausaw
DT (2) James Mitchell, Nicholas Hilliard
LB (0)
CB (1) DJ Warnell
Safety (0)
Athlete (3) Jacarrion Green, Tyrese Grant, Malik Sherrod
That's only 18 offers out there to uncommitted noteworthy recruits.... not even enough to max out our scholarships to complete 2020 class even if we reeled in 100%. THAT IS A HUGE ISSUE. Jake put this off way too long. So unless we start offering new players or players flip this late he is in big big trouble
Since we have had very little recruiting talk on the board, I figured I would help with some Twitter stalking.
Looks like an offer was sent out to Butler JC OLB, Charlie Gray. He holds offers from Akron, Marshall, Liberty, NM State, UTEP, and SE Missouri.
2020 Dallas Parish Episcopal School RB Cauren Lynch was offered 4 days ago. He holds 13 offers from Boston College, Purdue, Air Force, Dartmouth, Liberty, UNT, Rutgers, Tulane, Vandy, UVA, SMU, and Illinois State, and now TXST.
Tevin Mims started following LB from Navarro JC, Kwame Sarkodie and Hutchinson CC DE, Niko Cooper.
Coach Kirchon recently started following Coffeyville CC WR Tyquez Hampton. He is currently committed to Tulsa.
Boone Felt recently started following JUCO OL David Serrano. He also recently started following a 6’8" 330lb OL who started at McMurry and is currently at Garden City CC named Joel Galvan. Also started following a JUCO OL named Ashton Jones.
Boone Felt and Bob Stitt recently started following an OL who is a sophomore at Western Kentucky named Mason Brooks. Not sure if anything is there. They both also started following 2020 HS QB from Oregon named Cooper Justice who has offers from Georgetown and Colorado School of the Mines.
Brett Dewhurst started following DB Jakorian Bennett from Hutchinson CC. He holds 15 G5 offers. Dewhurst also started following Tyler JC DBs Tyus Walker-Grayson and Grid Isidore. Grid looks like he was either at SFA or Nicholls last season. Dewhurst started following DBs Eric Scott, Kwaychon Chisom, and Woobendy Guerrier(what a name) from Butler CC.
Big Bobby Stitt started following OL Kobe Rios from Iowa Western JC. Shows 1 offer from Maryland on 247. Twitter tells me Liberty also offered. Stitty recently started following HS QB from Santa Monica named Anthony Arnou. He recently visited SJSU and Yale but holds 0 offers. He also started following Creekview HS QB Brody Rhodes who was apparently at our Thursday night game. Stitt also started following a few players from Iowa Western CC - WR Corey Reed Jr. , WR Marcell Barbee (holds offers from UMass and Southern Miss), and OL Drew Beymer (holds 1 offer from SFA.)
Morris Berger started following Cisco College OLB Travis DeGrate. Looks like he started at OU. he also started following Cisco College DB Rick Lester, who transferred from Liberty. He also started following TE Noah Yates from Lackawanna College. He transferred from Army.
I very much disagree, unless we are looking at him as a preferred walk-on. You should not waste a scholarship on a QB from Oregon who currently has 555 yards, 5 TDs, and 3 INTs through 6 games this season, when your school is smack down in the middle of the state that produces by far the most QB talent in the country. If we have to settle for the #43 player in Oregon in the class of 2020 for a QB in this class, that would be a massive failure for this coaching staff. I'm not exaggerating when I say I would rather have 40+ QBs in 2020 from Texas.Justice looks promising
We need some players from Last Chance U to transfer to Last Choice U.Lol my information comes 100% from watching last chance U, but they were all getting their offers after their season. That is like December. If we are holding on to a bunch of slots for JUCO it isn’t crazy that we don’t have a lot of offers for high schoolers.
I mean we got a commit from independence already so ... Spavs way ahead of youWe need some players from Last Chance U to transfer to Last Choice U.
We offered another JUCO LB Malik Robinson. Holds an offer from UH and started his career at UNC.Since we have had very little recruiting talk on the board, I figured I would help with some Twitter stalking.

Malik Robinson, Houston Cougars, Linebacker
Malik Robinson is a 6-0, 223-pound Inside Linebacker from Snellville, GA.247sports.com
He enrolled in 2017. Mac was hired in 2019.Had offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Notre Dame but chose UNC? Baffling to say the least, but Mack Brown was always known as a good recruiter.
I was curious how Mac helped Larry Fedora bring him in.He enrolled in 2017. Mac was hired in 2019.
Lol. Most P5 teams offer between 200-400 scholarships per year. Not all of those are committable and many of them expire as their class fills, but your argument that we “get very few people that we offer” could be said about every school in the country. If our offers were a gurantee that they would enroll at TxSt we would look at least like a Big XII team. Instead we get very few people that we offer... and again it goes back to wins...and the way we get wins is for Jake to make the best of what we got and outperform with less ability and I don't think we've seen that from him.
Hate that at TxSt we get so excited and caught up in offers that we forget about getting commits and enrollees
I thought he was hired after the 2017 season, my bad then.He enrolled in 2017. Mac was hired in 2019.
